2013年4月，心脏外科监护室(ICU)和体外循环及机械循环辅助科合并，成立心脏外科危重症中心，主任侯晓彤。心脏外科危重症中心整合了两个科室的优势，大大提高了循环呼吸急危重症抢救的水平和效率，2013年中心实施体外膜肺氧合(ECMO)位居全国首位。

ICU成立于建院之时，历任主任：林训生，刘淑媛，贾士杰，贾明。目前有医护人员300人，其中医生26人，医护比例为1:12。正高职称3人，副高职称12人，中级职称10人，初级职称3人。博士后及博士2人，硕士18人。开放床位112张，其中成人监护80张，小儿监护32张。收治各种心脏手术后及围手术期心肺功能衰竭患者，包括心脏移植、冠心病、风湿性心脏病、先天性心脏病、主动脉瘤、心脏肿瘤、ARDS等。2013年收治患者超万例，抢救成功率达85%以上，死亡率仅1.7%。

体外循环及机械循环辅助科是我国仅有的几个独立体外循环科室之一，历任主任：龚庆成，侯晓彤。现有医师23人，护士及技术人员13人。其中高级职称9人，中级职称13人，初级职称14人。博士4 人，硕士 10人。承担心脏外科手术相关的体外循环及人工辅助循环支持，包括：主动脉内球囊反搏(IABP)、ECMO、肿瘤热疗灌注及其他非心脏手术的体外循环，2013年完成心脏外科手术相关的体外循环近六千例，IABP例数超过500例，为世界领先，已累计ECMO近500例。同时ECMO小组还进行院外ECMO的抢救，包括有效地抢救H1N1、H7N9等急危重症。

Center for Cardiac Intensive Care was established on Apr. 2013 through the combination of the Cardiac Surgical ICU with the Department of Extracorporeal Circulation. The director is Hou Xiaotong. Center for Cardiac Intensive Care combined the advantages of the two departments, greatly improved the level and efficiency of the circulatory and respiratory emergency rescue for critically ill patients. In 2013, the implementation of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) of this center ranked first in the country.

ICU was primarily established at the time of the establishment of the hospital, the successive directors were Lin Xunsheng, Liu Shuyuan, Jia Shijie, and presently Jia Ming. Currently there are 300 medicial staff members in cardiac surgical ICU, including 26 doctors and the Doctor/Nurse ratio is 1:11. The number of staff at least undergraduate educational background is over 30, of which there are 2 with doctor degree, 18 with master degree, 3 with senior professional title, 12 with vice-senior professional title, 10 with intermediate title, and 3 with junior title. 112 beds are set in ICU, of which 80 for adult care and 32 for pediatric care. Various patients of post-cardiac surgery and perioperative cardiorespiratory failure are treated here, including heart transplantation, coronary heart disease, rheumatic heart disease, congenital heart disease, aortic aneurysm, cardiac tumors, ARDS, etc. Patients admitted to the ICU in 2013 were over ten thousand. The Rate of Successful Rescue was more than 85% and the mortality rate was only 1.7%.

The Department of Extracorporeal Circulation and Mechanical Circulatory Support is one of the few independent department for cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) in our contry. The directors were primarily Gong Qingcheng, and presently Hou Xiaotong. There are 23 physicians and 13 nurses or technicians, including 4 with doctor degree, 10 with master degree, 9 with senior or vice-senior professional title, 13 with intermediate title, and 14 with junior title. Cardiopulmonary bypass heart surgery and mechanical circulatory support such as intra-aortic balloon pulsation (IABP), ECMO, hyperthermia perfusion for tumor treatment and other non-cardiac cardiopulmonary bypass surgery can be carried out. In 2013, CPB heart surgery was nearly six thousand cases, IABP more than 500 cases (the world's leading). Cumulative ECMO implementation have been nearly 500 cases. Meanwhile, ECMO team of the center also carried out ECMO rescue outside the hospital, including effective rescue of H1N1, H7N9 patients.

收治心脏手术及急慢性心肺功能衰竭患者，在心脏外科术后患者基础监护治疗同时，开展了ECMO、IABP、肾替代治疗(CRRT)、左室辅助(LVAD)、有创及无创呼吸治疗、纤维支气管镜和血流动力学监测(PiCCO、Swan-Ganz导管等)。

每年举行全国性IABP培训、ECMO学习班及体外生命支持研讨会，有力地促进我国人工辅助循环水平及危重症抢救水平的提高。

Based on general ICU care/treatment for patients of post-cardiac surgery and acute or chronic cardiorespiratory failure, our ICU is able to implement ECMO, IABP, continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), left ventricular assist device (LVAD), invasive or non-invasive ventilation, branchofiberoscope, and invasive hemodynamic monitoring (PiCCO/Swan-Gans catheter etc.).

Training and research symposiums are held annually nationwide for IABP, ECMO or extracorporeal life support, effectively promoted the mechanical circulatory support level and rescue level in critically ill patients.

先后进行了体外循环灌注、转流、超滤等相关方法改良，体外循环诱发炎症及脏器损伤，ECMO规范、流程，ECMO在体外心肺复苏中的应用，心脏术后无创通气，心室辅助装置等方面的研究，有数项研究获省部级以上奖，全中心已在国内外期刊发表论著近百篇，获专利3项。现有博士生导师2名，已培养博、硕士十余名，在研国际合作1项，国家级课题4项，省部级课题3项及院校级课题多项。

The center has conducted studies on the perfusion and ultrafiltration of CBP, CPB-induced inflammation and organ damage, ECMO norms and protocols, ECMO in cardiopulmonary resuscitation, non-invasive ventilation after cardiac surgery, LVAD, etc. Several studies have won provincial and ministerial awards. Totally near 100 of papers have been published in international and national journals. Three patents have been authorized. Currently there are two doctoral tutors in the center. More than 10 students have obtained their Doctor's or Master's degree here. Ongoing research projects include a study of international cooperation, four national projects, three provincial research projects and a number of other researches.

2003年ICU共青团支部被评为北京市卫生系统防治非典型肺炎工作先进团支部;

2009年刘淑媛护士长获第42届南丁格尔奖;

2011,2013年侯晓彤主任荣获北京市卫生局“优秀共产党员”称号;

2013年体外循环及机械循环辅助科全体女医师荣获第九届中国心血管外科医师年会女医师委员集体“风采奖”。

2015年侯晓彤主任被评为“2015首都十大杰出青年医生”。
